Oreninc Index Jumps in Holiday Shortened Week
The markets started to display a heartbeat of life, and the Oreninc Index took a positive turn in the family day shortened week ending February 21, 2013. The week saw a marked increase in dollars opened for both brokered and non-brokered deals. Numbered of brokered deals was flat, while one bought deal was announced for the first time in three weeks. Although the financing markets remain very shaky, it’s nice to see jumps from time to time.
Summary:
- Deals announced jumped to 35, a three-week high.
- Two brokered deals were announced, flat from last week; brokered dollars announced increased to $70 million, tripling last weeks total.
- Two bought deals were announced, the first bought deals in three weeks.
- Total dollars announced nearly tripled to $123 million, a three-week high.
- Average deal size increased to $3.5 million, a three-week high.

- Sterling Resources Ltd. (TSX-V:SLG) opened a $55 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Casimir Capital on a bought deal basis.
- Orex Minerals Inc. (TSX-V:REX) opened a $20 million offering on a best efforts basis. The deal is expected to close on or about March 30, 2013.
- Panoro Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V:PML) opened a $15.02 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Canaccord Genuity on a bought deal basis. The deal is expected to close on or about March 14, 2013.
- Entree Gold Inc. (TSX:ETG) opened a $10 million offering on a best efforts basis. The deal is expected to close on or about March 1, 2013.

- Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. (TSX-V:SCZ) closed a $40.42 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Canaccord Genuity on a bought deal basis.
- DeeThree Exploration Ltd. (TSX:DTX) closed a $30.06 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by Macquarie Capital Markets on a bought deal basis.
- Pretium Resources Inc. (TSX:PVG) closed a $21 million offering underwritten by a syndicate led by CIBC on a bought deal basis.
- Upper Canada Gold Corp. (TSX-V:UCC) closed an $8 million offering on a best efforts basis.
